The coating consist of applying a varnish or a glue on a flexible material (plastic film, aluminum, paper…) to provide specific functions related to the final-use of the product. The glue coating (lamination) or the varnish (coating or printing) on the flexible substrate, is carried out by using a rotogravure cylinder (engraved cylinder), followed by a passage of the film in the drying tunnel to evaporate the solvents or the water.
Technics : Gravure or 5 cylinders block
Deposit : 0,5 to 4 g/m²
Flexible substrates : Films 6-175 microns – Papers from 40 to 300 g/m² – Aluminum starting from 9 microns
What are the functions provided by the varnish ?
REXOR relies on its extensive R&D department to develop an exhaustive range of funtions to its varnishes : color, printability, sealability, oxygen or water-vapor barrier, food contact, reflection, authentication…
