The coating is to apply a varnish or glue on a base material (plastic film, aluminum, paper…) to provide specific functions related to the end-use of the product. The coating of glue (lamination) or the varnish (coating or printing) on the media, is carried out by rotogravure using a cylinder engraved hollow (called the weft), followed by a passage of the film in the drying tunnel to evaporate the solvents or water.
Technics : Gravure or 5 cylinders block
Deposit : 0,5 à 4 g/m²
Base material : Films 6-175 microns – Papers from 40 to 300 g/m² – Aluminum starting from 9 microns
What are the functions provided by the varnish ?
